Israeli firm to give tech tips to Punjab farmers

Chandigarh: Chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh gave in-principle approval to a pilot project under which an Israeli company will provide technical know-how to farmers to boost crop yield and farm income.  

The project will be undertaken in collaboration with Israelbased farming solutions provider ARNA. It will provide a digital agriculture platform with database of all farmers, besides tracking their agriculture activities.

The CM directed additional chief secretary, horticulture, Himmat Singh to depute a nodal officer to put the pilot project on fast track. He sought support in tackling problem of the state’s fast depleting water table.
