The old saying ‘Man makes his own luck’ perfectly suits
Dharamvir Kamboj who used to pull rickshaw but he changed the verdict of his
life and now he is an inspiration for so many people.
Dharamvir used to pull rickshaw for his bread 12 years ago but now he is an innovative farmer as he himself designed a Portable Multipurpose Processing Unit, which is capable to process various herbal plants to extract gel, juice and so many other things.
Dharamvir Kamboj (52) resident of village Damla, Yamuna Nagar, Haryana was a rickshaw puller and a daily wager but in 2006, his life completely changed when he started working on a project and after a year in 2007 he completed the project.
Dharamvir Singh said, “I was a rickshaw puller and a daily wager. I used to earn only Rs 200 to 300 a day. In 2006, I saw women in the village to peel vegetable and herbal plants with their hands and often, their hands were cut because of sharp edge of knife. Then the idea comes into my mind to invent a machine, which can solve the purpose. I started working on the machine in 2006 and in 2007 I completed the machine which is known as Portable Multipurpose Processing Unit and its actual cost is Rs 1,50,000.”
Revealing about the machine, Dharamvir said, “This is a portable multipurpose unit which is capable to process various herbal plants like Aloe Vera to extract gel, juice and left over material for making candy, sweets, powder and other things with good efficiency. It’s a cookers, grinder, mixture processing and juicer. Multiple utility and multi processing capability of the device processes the raw material in several ways and thus develops multi products. The machine has the capability to process around 200 kilograms of herbal products and fruits in an hour.”
Dharamvir further said that when he developed the machine then he started growing Aloe Vera and Amla in two acres of his ancestral land and through the machine; he prepared juice, gel, shampoo and sweets from Aloe Vera and Amla.
He has now employed 35 females for his business and he also sells the machine. He has so many pieces of his invented machine and even he has exported one of his machines to Kenya.
Even he trains the buyer who buy machine from him. When asked him about his annual turnover, he said, “From the herbal products I am earning around Rs 24 lakhs and each machine I sell at the cost of Rs 1,50,000. Even I am also developing the small model of the machine for domestic purpose.”
The president Zimbabwe honored Dharamvir for his contribution to the innovative farming. Singh is a source of inspiration for so many people who give up
easily but he didn’t give up and despite even the odds he came out with flying
colors.
