Munish Nagar: The news of the verdict regarding the Dera Sacha Sauda head hit the headlines last week. It is to be announced tomorrow. In view of that security arrangements have been made avoid any incident. Section 144 of the Cr.P.C was imposed in Panchkula and Chandigarh as a security measure to avoid big gathering of Dera followers there.
However, as thousands of followers of Dera have reached at Panchkula, the role of the Haryana government has come under scanner for not maintaining security arrangements. There is a question that how come the dera followers reached Panchkula from Sirsa and other parts of Haryana.
When the security deployment is done in the entire state and even the paramilitary forces have been deployed at every nook and corner then how come the dera followers reached Panchkula amid tight security.
According to the reports of intelligence, around two lakhs of the supporter have reached Panchkula. It seems there is some security lapse that led the supporters to enter Panchkula from Sirsa and other parts of Haryana.
The security lapse hinting at the Haryana government’s soft corner as the Dera head supported the BJP in 2014 Vidhan Sabha elections. When the
section 144 of CrPC imposed in the parts of Haryana then how come the followers reached Panchkula in large numbers.
Why didn’t the security forces stop them at nakas? Even the Punjab and Haryana High Court has pulled the Haryana Police not to implement section 144 in letter and spirit.
The court also directed the Haryana Police that there should not be a single loss of life and if there will be any then DGP would be responsible for it and he would be taken to task.
The court also
expressed its unhappiness over the failure to implement the section 144 in
letter and spirit. The petitioner lawyer,
RS Dhull, a resident of Panchkula, had submitted that despite prohibitory
orders in place, more than 1.5 lakh dera followers have already entered
Panchkula as on August 23.
The court called for
top law officers of Punjab, Haryana and Central government and asked them to
apprise court post lunch about the steps taken to ensure law and order.
