dreams to go abroad. The incident happened in Faridkot district when the
villagers were shocked to see the boy who was declared dead by his family
members.
ABOUT THE CASE
Rashpal Singh, father of Manpreet Singh, 23, of Chehal village in Kotkapura subdivision told the police that his son committed suicide by jumping into the canal. He had alleged that his son ended his life as three persons of his village tortured Manpreet physically and mentally.
The police had arrested three persons under section 306 of IPC (abetment to suicide).
On September 5, the family members organized memorial prayers for the departed soul. The villagers attended the ‘bhog’ of Manpreet.
BHOG OF MANPREET PROVED TO BE THE ‘BHOG’ OF HIS PLAN
The police got the tip that Manpreet is alive and hiding at a relative’s place in Moga. Police conducted a raid on September 5 and nabbed him. According to the police, Mannpreet was trying to escape abroad and hatched a conspiracy to fund his foreign dream.
MANPREET HATCHED A CONSPIRACY TO FUND HIS DREAM TO GO ABROAD
Manpreet Singh wanted to go abroad to get the employment. He had decided to go to Kuwait but due to financial constraint he could not go abroad. Finally, he hatched a plan to get the money and his family fabricated a false case against the three villagers Mandeep Singh, Gursewak Singh and Harjit Singh. The family approached the police and lodged a false complaint against them. When the police didn’t take action against the trio, the family made another excuse that Manpreet committed suicide by jumping into the canal.
MANPREET’S FAMILY DEMANDED RS 4 LAKH TO TAKE BACK THE CASE
The police said that the family demanded Rs 4 lakh from
Mandeep, Gursewak and Harjit to take back the case. The money was demanded to
fund the foreign trip of Manpreet. However, the police spoiled the plan of
Manpreet. A case of criminal conspiracy will be registered against Manpreet and
his family members. Police will request the court to give clean chit to the all
three accused as they were booked on the basis of staged drama.
