Honeypreet Insan whose real name is Priyanka Taneja was finally arrested after 38 days of playing hide and seek with the government by the Haryana police. She was arrested from the Zirakpur- Patiala Highway which is about 15 kms away from Chandigarh.

According to the officials, Honeypreet was questioned by the SIT and women police officials for several hours after her arrest at the Chandimandir police station. Her arrest was confirmed by Commissioner of Police, Panchkula, AS Chawla who also said that she would be produced before the court on Wednesday.

When the special investigation team was questioning her she complains of chest pain so they take her to the nearest hospital where the doctors said that she is fine. A woman along with Honeypreet who was accompaning her was also arrested on charges of harbouring the fugitive.

The police has also seized the car in which they were travelling. The police commissioner AS Chawla said that it was an arrest and not surrender. Assistant Commissioner of Police mukesh Malhotra said, "We need to investigate her role in the Panchkula violence on August 25 and hence we will seek her police remand".
