Amritsar: The Amritsar administration hoisted the National Flag atop a 360-ft-high mast at the Attari border on Sunday. The Improvement Trust authorities led by superintending engineer Rajiv Shekhari were present. DC Kamaldeep Singh Sangha later visited the spot in the evening.

The authorities have now decided to hoist the Tricolour only on ceremonial occasions as the flag repeatedly got damaged in the past due to adverse weather conditions. Pakistan will raise its National Flag at 400 ft at the Wagah border on its I-Day on Monday.
