Raikot: The police arrested munshi Nirbhay Singh in the suicide case of Constable Amanpreet Kaur whose body was found hanging from a ceiling fan at police station. Nirbhay had been booked under Section 306 (abetment of suicide) of the IPC on Saturday.

Raikot: The police arrested munshi Nirbhay Singh in the suicide case of Constable Amanpreet Kaur whose body was found hanging from a ceiling fan at police station. Nirbhay had been booked under Section 306 (abetment of suicide) of the IPC on Saturday.

Kaur was cremated with the state honours at the Khadoor village crematorium. Even though the police announced that he was arrested early this morning, the kin of the deceased and office-bearers of various organisations insisted that the cremation would take place only after the accused was presented before them. The police allowed a delegation of protesters to verify that the accused was in custody.

The police have been investigating the matter that whether Amanpreet committed suicide or it was a planned murder.
