The Punjab State Schedule Casts Commission has taken suo moto notice to the sensational news pertaining to the death of Amanpreet Kaur and directed the Director Bureau of Investigation to constitute a Special Investigation team to probe the matter.

The Punjab State Schedule Casts Commission has taken suo moto notice to the sensational news pertaining to the death of Amanpreet Kaur and directed the Director Bureau of Investigation to constitute a Special Investigation team to probe the matter.
Amanpreet Kaur’s body was found hanging with the ceiling fan in mysterious circumstances. The deceased father had given a complaint to the police that she was harassed by her colleagues. Even the evidences found in the room were hinting out something fishy in Amanpreet Kaur’s hanging.
When the cops found her body hanging in the room, there were turbans of her colleagues lying on the table that raised suspicion over the death in lady constable. Further, the police have procured the pieces of cloths as the substantial evidence of the case.
SC Commission stressed that the indications of serious foul play over the death of Amanpreet Kaur should be probed seriously. Rajesh Bagha, Chairman of the SC Commission, Punjab said that the news reports on the death of lady constable indicated serious foul play which needs to be probed. He said that taking sou moto notice of these news reports the Commission in its full members meeting has decided to refer this issue to the Director Bureau of Investigation, with the instructions to constitute a special investigate team and complete the investigation within stipulated period and submit the report before the Commission on July 22, 2017.
He said that considering the seriousness of the matter, the Bureau of Investigation has been asked to constitute SIT comprising the three police officers of the rank of Deputy Inspector General, Superintendent of Police and Deputy Superintendent of Police. He said that SIT will submit the two copies of the report before the commission.
