Ferozepur:
A 28-year-young, Gurmeet Singh, a farmer of Ferozepur district apparently distressed over his mounting debt
for a long time, allegedly committed suicide by consuming poisonous
substance.
According to the family members, Gurmeet Singh was upset and worried for the last so many days over how he would repay his loans as whole of his family was dependent upon him and agriculture land was also being looked after by him. So, because of this burden of paying debt the farmer forced to commit suicide.
Maya Devi, wife of the deceased said that her husband was worried over the repayment of debt through installments so he has taken a loan of Rs.5 lac against one acre land as they were having only two acre of lands.
Gurmeet Singh has left behind his mother, father, wife and two small kids. Meanwhile, the family of the victim has demanded a compensation to run the home affairs besides waiving off the entire loan amount with interest.
