The Dussenhra Committee of Sector 46 Chandigarh which has installed highest 83 feet Ravana this Dussehra would also burn the effigy of Gurmeet Ram Raheem Singh, the head of dera Sacha Sauda sentenced to 20 years imprisonment in Sadhvi rape case.
The Ravana effigy looks like a eight story building with 83 feet height while the effigies of Kumbhkaran and Meghnath are 77 feet high.
The committee has spent Rs.1.10 lakhs on the effigies. The committee has also installed Ravana's small effigies around the city.
The committee has filled effigies with crackers worth Rs.45000, a committee spokesman said. The event will begin at 4.30 PM today while effigies will be burnt at 6.30 PM, said Jatinder Bhatia patron of Shri Sanatam Dharam Dussehra committee.
The Sector 17 dussehra committee has installed Ravana of 70 feet made at cost of Rs.1.8 lakhs.
