The Punjab and Haryana High Court has summoned the SP Bhatinda to appear in the court on September 25 in the murder case of a dancer who died due to the gun shot fired in marriage.

He has been told to explain how a case under Section 304-A (causing death by negligence) of the IPC, and not under Section 302 (murder) or Section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), was made out in a case where a shot from a .12-bore gun killed the dancer, Kulwinder Kaur, on the spot.

The direction came on a petition filed by accused Lucky Kumar against Punjab. He was seeking regular bail in the FIR dated December 4, 2016, registered at Maur police station.
