Chandigarh- Describing Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh as a Frankenstein monster, the Dal Khalsa said the Sirsa dera head has held Punjab, Chandigarh and Haryana to ransom courtesy the Indian state that has cultivated, nurtured and promoted this godmen to divide the Sikhs into sects and sub-sects and reap electoral benefits out of it.

The organization believes as fear of a judgement in a sexual abuse case hangs on his shoulders, the heretical cult leader has engineered the mobilization of his followers to influence the judiciary.

Party leaders H S Dhami, Kanwar Pal Singh, Amrik Singh Issru, Jasbir Singh and Paramjit Singh said the cult followers on social networks and in the media are threatening “that in case the decision goes against their head, they will resort to violence and tear the country into pieces”. The impotent state has failed to react against such dangerous utterances, they said.

They wondered why the state authorities have not invoked provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, Sedition law and Preventive Detention Act, against them. Taking a jibe at the (Indian) authorities they asked whether these draconian provisions were reserved for dissenting Sikhs and Muslims.

Despite imposition of section 144 CrPC the gathering of one lac dera premis in the city of Panchkula is not only mocking at the state of preparedness but has left the administration irrelevant and incompetent. “Who will take the blame for the mess”. It shows there's more to it than meet the eyes", said they.

“The build-up hysteria, atmosphere of fear psychosis, threatening tone and tenor of dera followers, mobilization of premis’ on one hand and security forces on the other, points out that the law won’t be able to take its own course in a free and fair manner”, they observed.

Though the case is not directly related to Sikhs and Punjabis, yet they must be prepared to defend themselves if 'premis' resort to hooliganism targeting them, said they.
