According to the sources, the Congress transporters have totally confused as their own government can take action against them. The sources revealed that the Congress transporters met the Finance Minister Manpreet Badal and told him that the new policy formed to end the monopoly of the Badals’ transport may harm their business too.
The leaders of Punjab Motors Union met Manpreet Badal on Monday regarding the demands of the transporters. Avatar Singh Henry, the former Congress minister who is also the president of the union didn’t attend the meeting due to certain reasons. Avtar Singh Junior, son of Henry along with the other leaders met Finance Minister and gave him a request of 12 demands to be fulfilled.
While clearing his stand on the transport policy, Manpreet Badal stated that he has not formed the policy as the policy has been framed on the directions of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
He further said that the new policy has been submitted in the court and the government has given 45 days to the public for any suggestion, addition or modification. The notification of the policy will be issued by the government after 45 days. Manpreet clearly said that the new transport policy has been framed clearly on the directions and guidelines of the court.
