Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh visiting Delhi on Monday to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
The Chief Minister is expected to urge them on some key issues of Punjab. An official said that "The implementation of the farm loan waiver scheme is the top priority of the Congress government".
Adding on, he addressed that Capt Amarinder Singh would request the, to give the relaxation among the Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management Act 2003.
The Punjab government urges the Center to increase the state’s borrowing limit by Rs 10,000 crore to fund the debt waiver scheme. Punjab has been seeking for resolving the continuous SYL issue through negotiations.
Meanwhile, the state had earlier appealed to the Center to arrange a conversation with Haryana to solve the matter. Chief Minister can also discuss the issues leading to farmers ‘suicides, with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Capt Amarinder Singh can also request for GST relief for hill states of Punjab.
