Cleanliness drive at Chandimandir Military Station

Chandigarh: As part of the ongoing 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan', a cleanliness drive was today conducted at the Chandimandir Military station in Panchkula. Sending the message of the Army being a pioneer in promoting 'cleaner and greener environment', the aim of the campaign was to create environment of cleanliness across the station, a release by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) said.

The drive saw participation of maximum number of available officers including Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and other ranks. It also resulted in mass awareness amongst the residents of need for clean and green environment for a healthy living, it said.   


On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary, a pledge was also taken by the Army re-dedicating itself to the cause of cleanliness, the release said. PTI
