Sangrur: A 35-year-old farmer, Sukhwinder Singh, of Gharachon village committed suicide by hanging himself in his room on Friday night. The police are investigating.

The family got to know about the incident in the morning. Family members told the police that Sukhwinder was under stress due to financial problems and mounting debt. The family owns only one acre of land.
