Punjab, December 31, 2024: The Border Security Force (BSF) successfully intercepted and recovered three Pakistani drones along the Punjab border in a major operation on Monday. These drones were neutralized using "advanced technical countermeasures," effectively thwarting potential attempts at cross-border smuggling.
The drones were recovered from Rajatal village in Amritsar. The BSF Punjab Frontier shared on X (formerly Twitter), "In a significant operation today, BSF Punjab troops recovered three Pakistani drones, including two DJI Matrice RTK 350 drones and one DJI Mavic 3 Classic, from Rajatal village along the Punjab border."
The BSF further highlighted the success as a testament to its commitment to border security and curbing narcotics smuggling. Pictures of the drones were also posted online.
In another operation, the BSF, in coordination with Punjab Police, recovered a heroin consignment weighing 534 grams from Tarn Taran district. The narcotics packet, wrapped with yellow adhesive tape, was found with an improvised metal wire loop and luminous sticks attached to it.
The BSF commended the reliable intelligence and collaborative efforts that successfully prevented yet another smuggling attempt. Similar operations earlier this month also led to the recovery of drones and narcotics, underscoring the joint vigilance of BSF and Punjab Police in combating cross-border activities.
