Chandigarh, January 31: Punjab Vidah Sabha Speaker Rana KP Singh on Thursday invited the Commonwealth countries to leverage state’s vastly improved industrial sentiment by exploring exciting investment opportunities in various sectors like Agriculture, manufacturing and textiles among others.

Interacting with a delegation of National Liberal Club- Commonwealth Forum (NLC-CF) led by Lord Diljit Singh Rana which had called on him here today afternoon, Rana KP Singh asked them to act as state’s ambassadors to attract more investment for Punjab. Being an agrarian state, Punjab has always been at the forefront to fulfill country’s food needs, he said, adding that the Punjabis with their unique entrepreneurial spirit were endowed with hardworking and determined attitude.

Welcoming the visiting delegation, Rana KP Singh urged them to play an aggressive role by utilizing their platform in ensuring an equitable and progressive world order. This could be achieved through mutual social-political and economical development and preservation of global environment, the Speaker added. Stressing on the need to further enhance cooperation amongst all stakeholders, Rana KP Singh asked the delegation members to exert their influence to raise issues of universal concern.

He appreciated the members for their passion and enthusiasm and hoped that the forum would do all out efforts to achieve the shared goals. Prominent amongst others present on the occasion Forest Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, Leader of Opposition Harpal Singh Cheema, MLAs Randeep Singh Nabha, and Harpartap Singh Ajnala.

The delegation comprised of Trevor Peel, Colin Welsh, Subbu Subramaniam Loganathan, Emily, Dr. James Richard Brown, Svetlana Green, Richard Harper, Sameer Seth, Professor Ashok Misra, Riju Raj Jamwal, Deepan Kumar Sarkar, Ella Beatrice Slack, Brian Flynn, Anuj Dayal, Anthony Philip William Pilkington, Dr. Yehuda Ahmad, Jill Robinson, Gerald Peter James Parsons, Mark Lowrie Burch and Freda Graf.
