The Commission comprising of Hon’ble Chairperson Justice Iqbal Ahmed Ansari, Hon’ble Member Justice Ashutosh Mohunta and Hon’ble Member Ms. Avinash Kaur taking suo-motu cognizance of this matter (Bathinda cop caught on cam beating up elderly woman) called for report from Punjab Government, in the  Home Department, through the  Additional Chief Secretary to Govt. Punjab, in the Home Department , through the SSP, Bathinda, by the next date i.e.14.10.2018.

The Commission has perused the news-item published in  an english daly  dated 27.8.2018, under the caption “Bathinda cop caught on cam beating up elderly woman”. It reveals that  a cop repeatedly slapped an elderly woman and pulled her to the ground when the police resorted to use of force on the workers of the brick  kiln at Sukhanand village, on Sunday,  demanding the release of their wages at Sukhanand village , on Sunday.
