A horrific murder has come to light from Punjab’s Jalandhar, where a 20-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by his friends following a heated argument.

The deceased has been identified as Ashu, a resident of Ravidas Colony. According to information, Ashu was at his home around 4 am on Sunday when he got into an argument with his friends. The dispute escalated, following which his friends allegedly stabbed him in the stomach.

Ashu died on the spot due to excessive bleeding, while the accused fled the scene.

Residents immediately informed the Rama Mandi police. A police team, along with forensic experts, reached the spot and initiated an investigation.

The body was taken into police custody and sent to the Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination.

As per preliminary investigation, Ashu had been released from jail around one and a half months ago. He was reportedly sleeping at home with his friends when the argument broke out, leading to the fatal incident.

The murder once again highlights the rising crime rate in the state, with incidents of murder being reported almost every other day.
