Chandigarh: In a proud and defining moment for Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today honoured 509 students from government schools who successfully cleared the NEET examination, reinforcing the state government’s unwavering focus on strengthening public education.

Over the past three years, Punjab has witnessed a quiet yet powerful educational transformation, thanks to the progressive vision and consistent efforts of the Mann-led government. The Chief Minister, while addressing a special ceremony at the Municipal Bhawan, said, “The fruitful results we are witnessing today are a direct outcome of the Punjab Government’s commitment to educational upliftment.”

CM Mann highlighted that the success of these 509 government school students in one of the most competitive entrance exams in India is not a coincidence, but a result of the systematic reforms and targeted investments made in Punjab’s public education infrastructure. “Today is a historic day. Our students, who once lacked basic resources, are now making headlines for all the right reasons,” he said with pride.

From Chalkboards to Competitive Exams: Punjab’s Quiet Revolution
The Chief Minister reiterated that education has always remained at the heart of his government’s priorities — alongside healthcare, job creation, infrastructure, and the ongoing war against drugs. “Government schools are no longer places of compromise — they are centres of excellence now,” said Mann.

He added that the previous governments failed to create opportunities, forcing Punjab’s youth to migrate or miss out on career paths due to age limits and misgovernance. “We started working from Day One to fix that broken system. Now, the dreams of parents are being fulfilled within the four walls of government classrooms,” he said.

Empowering Youth, Reversing Migration
The Chief Minister reflected on how the winds have changed in Punjab. “This very building, the Municipal Bhawan, has become a symbol of new beginnings — thousands have received job letters here. I proudly call it Nyukti Patra Bhawan,” he remarked, noting that more than 54,422 youth have received government jobs on merit during his tenure.

Mann also stressed how the reversal of migration is a strong indicator of regained public trust. “Our youth are returning from abroad to serve their homeland — because they now see opportunities here. The transparency in recruitment and faith in governance is restoring their confidence,” he said.

Education as a Catalyst for Change
The CM emphasized that these NEET-qualified students from government schools will become torchbearers of change, not just for their families but for entire communities. Their success is a message that quality education in government schools is no longer a distant dream but a present-day reality.

He also raised concerns about the imbalance in opportunity distribution in the past. “It’s unfortunate that while politicians have no age limit to contest elections, our youth were denied jobs just because they crossed the age bar — a direct result of decades of administrative negligence,” Mann stated.

A Vision for a New Punjab
Calling education the “strongest weapon of social change,” the Chief Minister said that Punjab is now scripting a new story — one where hardworking students, dedicated teachers, and a government with vision are working hand in hand to reclaim the state’s lost glory.

“We are not just honouring NEET pass-outs — we are honouring Punjab’s potential,” said Bhagwant Mann, assuring that the government will continue to push boundaries in education to make Punjab a model state in the country.

This remarkable NEET success story is not just about numbers — it's a testament to what a government can achieve when it places education at the center of its governance model.
