The police added that the accused's son was also allegedly involved and has been nominated in the case.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ajay Gandhi of Moga, Punjab, said during a press conference on Sunday that the Kot Ise Khan Police Station arrested an accused yesterday who has three previous cases registered against him.
The police recovered illegal weapons and 1.25 kg of heroin from the possession of the accused, along with 31 live cartridges and one large magazine.
The police added that the accused’s son was also allegedly involved and has been nominated in the case.
“If more people are named, they will also be nominated and legal action will be taken,” the officer added.
“It has been found that the accused was involved in drug and weapons smuggling and had links with smugglers based in Pakistan..." the police officer further stated during the conference.
The recovery unfolded during a Moga police inspection of a car on the basis of suspicion, the officer futher added.
