Ludhiana’s New Industrial Era: INR 1,003 Crore Steel Plant to Create 920 Jobs in Punjab
Punjab has secured a massive greenfield investment of INR 1,003.57 crore in the special steel manufacturing sector to strengthen the state’s industrial landscape . The announcement was made by the Cabinet Minister for Industries and Commerce, Sanjeev Arora, highlighting Ludhiana's growing status as a major industrial and metallurgical hub in North India.
According to the report, the investment will be made by AISRM Multimetals Private Limited, a part of the Arora Iron Group. The company proposes to set up a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at Village Jaspallon on the Doraha–Khanna Road in Ludhiana district. The project is expected to be a significant employment driver, creating direct jobs for over 920 people.
Spanning approximately 46 acres, the plant will be developed in three phases, with the first phase targeted to become operational by September 2027. The facility is designed for an annual capacity of 5.40 lakh metric tonnes and will produce high-quality round bars, wire rods, and coils.
Minister Arora emphasised that the plant will utilise advanced technologies, including Electric Arc Furnaces (EAF) and Vacuum Degassing, to ensure sustainable and high-grade production.
Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora emphasised that this project is a direct reflection of the state government’s strategic focus on sustainable manufacturing and high-value employment. He said that by leveraging Punjab’s robust industrial base, skilled workforce, and logistical advantages, the state is successfully transforming into a premier destination for industrial growth and value addition.
