Ferozepur's 10-year-old Shravan Singh Honoured for Bravery and Compassion during Operation Sindoor

Other children who received the award are 14-year-old cricketer Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and 17-year-old Weightlifter Jyoshna Sabar.  

Shravan Singh News: A 10-year-old boy, Shravan Singh, from Chak Taran Wali village in Ferozepur, who showed immense courage and compassion by serving milk, tea, buttermilk, and ice daily to Indian soldiers in a high-risk border city during Operation Sindoor earlier this year, has been awarded the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar, the highest civilian honour for children.

Shravan Singh received the award from President Droupadi Murmu earlier today.

Shravan, speaking to news agency ANI, said, " When Operation Sindoor began against Pakistan, soldiers came to our village. I thought I should serve them. I used to take milk, tea, buttermilk, and ice for them daily... I feel great to be awarded. I had never dreamt of it"

Aam Aatmi Party leader and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Raghav Chadha, has hailed the young boy for his extraordinary courage and compassion.

 Chadha, in a post on his X, wrote,  "During Operation Sindoor, while danger loomed at high-risk border posts, Shravan selflessly served water, milk and tea to Indian Army personnel stationed at forward positions. Standing firm where many adults would hesitate. His bravery and sense of service remind us that patriotism is not defined by age, but by action."

Other children who have also been awarded with Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar today are 14-year-old cricketer Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and 17-year-old Weightlifter Jyoshna Sabar.   

CM Bhagwant Mann earlier today, in a post on his X, called it a matter of pride.

"By following the teachings given by our Gurus, the service rendered by Shrawan Singh during Operation Sindoor by bringing tea, water, and food from home for the soldiers is commendable. Salute to the child's courage and zeal towards the country," the post originally posted in Hindi and Punjabi read.
