KOLKATA: In a significant development, Kolkata Police has successfully arrested an individual on allegations of spy for Pakistan, accompanied by the recovery of sensitive documents. The arrest was carried out by the police force in collaboration with intelligence inputs, as revealed by a senior police officer on Saturday. The accused hails from Bihar.

Acting upon actionable intelligence, the Kolkata Police swiftly apprehended the suspect from his residence located in the Howrah district on Friday. The senior police official stated, "The individual was found to be directly involved in activities of grave concern to the nation's security."

After several hours of intense interrogation, the arrest of the suspect took place late on Friday night. The official further elaborated, "A trove of intelligence-related information, consisting of images, videos, and online conversations, was extracted from the suspect's mobile phone. This information was allegedly being relayed by the suspect to a suspected intelligence operative associated with Pakistan."

The accused, who is employed by a courier service company in Kolkata, had previously resided in Delhi. Presently, he will be produced before a city court for legal proceedings, marking the next step in this ongoing investigation.
