Further investigation in the matter is underway

CHANDIGARH: A Shocking Case of fraudulent activities involving an immigration firm, private agents, and employees has come to light as a Sangrur resident was swindled out of a hefty sum of Rs 16 lakhs under the pretense of securing a United Kingdom (UK) study visa. The Chandigarh UT Police in Sector 34 have swiftly registered a case in connection with the incident.

The victim, Sukhdeep Singh, hailing from Sangrur in Punjab, detailed in his police complaint the elaborate scheme that ensnared him. He recounted how he had initiated the process of obtaining a UK study visa in February, engaging the services of Agent Mandhir Bajaj from Sector 34, a representative of FlyRight Visa Consultants. With a vision of pursuing higher education in the UK, Sukhdeep Singh purportedly paid a staggering sum of Rs 16 lakhs to the parties involved.

However, what he received in return was a stark departure from his aspirations. Instead of the anticipated study visa, the accused provided him with a Type C-Visit visa, significantly raising suspicions. This fraudulent document proved to be utterly worthless as Sukhdeep Singh was met with dismay upon reaching the Delhi airport, where he was promptly turned away. Sukhdeep Singh expressed his shock and disappointment at the audacious betrayal he had fallen victim to.

The incident underscores the urgent need for stricter regulations and oversight within the immigration consultancy sector. Law enforcement agencies are actively investigating the matter to bring the culprits to justice and to prevent further innocent individuals from falling prey to such deceptive practices.
