FEROZEPUR: In a significant development, the Ferozepur district police achieved a major breakthrough as the Sadar police station Zira apprehended two individuals involved in drug smuggling and recovered about 500 grams of heroin from their possession.

Gurpreet Singh, the in-charge of Sadar Zira police station, reported that he and his team were engaged in a continuous patrol operation. Acting on information provided by an informant, the team swiftly acted on the tip-off that two suspects, identified as Nishan Singh and Karamveer Singh, both residents of village Rajoke in Tarn Taran district, were engaged in the distribution of heroin. The suspects were reportedly stationed at Dana Mandi Bahik near Gujra, awaiting potential customers.

Taking immediate action based on the intelligence received, the police team promptly reached the specified location and apprehended both suspects. The operation resulted in the seizure of 500 grams of heroin, along with a computer keyboard and a motorcycle, which were in the possession of the arrested individuals. During interrogation, the individuals were questioned about the origin of the seized heroin and their intended destination for distribution.
