Leading the honors, legendary actor Dharmendra has been posthumously conferred with the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian award. Known as the 'He-Man' of Indian cinema, Dharmendra’s Punjabi roots remain a source of immense pride for the state. Joining him in the national spotlight is cricket icon Harmanpreet Kaur (Indian Women’s Captain), who has been awarded the Padma Shri for her contribution to the sport.

In the spiritual and social sector, the government awarded the Padma Shri to Sant Niranjan Das, head of Dera Sachkhand Ballan in Jalandhar. The report suggests that the award recognizes his 75 years of spiritual service and efforts toward the upliftment of the Dalit community and the Ravidassia followers.

The sporting fraternity also celebrated the Padma Shri for veteran hockey coach Baldev Singh. Based in Shahabad, Singh is known for creating the "nursery of Indian women’s hockey," training over 80 international players, including several national captains.
