
'AAP' youth wing starts dharna at Abohar
Spokesman News Service: Chandigarh, November 25, 2018: The Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday warned to pursue legal case against Punjab govt. in high court in case it fails to find a solution of the stray animals roaming around on the state roads.The party said that the animals are killing hundreds of innocent people everyday. The youth wing of party has started a indefinite strike in front of SDM office at Abohar opposing the failure of govt. to tackle the problem of stary animals.
In a press statement issued from party headquarters, the Lop Harpal Singh Cheema, Kissan wing president MLA, Kultar Singh Sandhwan, youth wing incharge, Meet Hayer and president Manjinder Singh Sidhu said that the problem of stray cattles and dogs is taking a bigger shape with each passing day but the govt. is in deep slumber and no policy has been formed to find any solution by Capt. govt. They said that depite AAP raising the issue at different platform and govt. agreeing to form a policy regarding the problem during vidhan sabha session has now stepped back to find the solution.
Cheema said that AAP will ask about the utilization of 'Gau cess' and other texes being collected on the name of taking care of staray animals. He said that it is the sole responsibility of govt. to protect the lives and belongings of people of state but the govt. has left it to the fate. Sandhwan said that till 2012, the govt. used to conduct survey to know the number of stary dogs and cows and find the solution accordingly but no effort has been made after 2012.
It shows the non serious attitude of govt regarding the basic problems of people of state. Meet Hayer and Manjinder Sidhu told that an indefinite dharna has been started by the youth wing under the guidance of Malwa zone president Sukhraj Singh Gora at Abohar. They said that the party will keep on raising the voice of people till the govt. wakes up and listen to the grievances of people.
