Fact Check News: A Video is going viral on social media with claim that famous Punjabi singer Kanwar Grewal has targeted Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. In this video, a person is targeting CM Bhagwant Mann and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal on the stage.
Facebook page Bindu Ghainwalia shared a viral video claiming that singer Kanwar Grewal has targeted Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
Rozana Spokesman found in its investigation that the viral video is not recent but is a clip from singer Kanwar Grewal's 2014 show which is being edited and made viral. Speaking with us, singer Kanwar Grewal's team has refuted the viral claim.
While starting the investigation, we first watched this video carefully. This video is of very poor quality. Taking this in view, we began our investigation by keyword search and by reading the sponsored names flashing on the LEDs backstage.
The viral video is a clip from singer's 2014 show that has been edited.
We found this viral video uploaded on many old Facebook posts and we also found the original video. We found original video uploaded on YouTube on August 10, 2014. Account "2648anil" shared this video 9 years ago and wrote, "Kanwar Grewal - Mast Bana Denge Biba - Live in Wolverhampton (UK) "2014"
We listened to the video carefully and found that the original video has nothing like the viral claim. We did not found anything regarding Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
We further proceeded to find out whether the singer had ever said anything like this about Bhagwant Mann or not. We did not find any news like the viral claim, but many such news came which claimed that the singer had supported Bhagwant Mann during the elections.
Singer had sung a song in praise of CM Bhagwant Mann in an annual fair, which can be seen below.
At the last stage of investigation, we tried to contact the singer at the last stage. Speaking to our news editor Navjot Dhaliwal, his team refuted the viral claim and said that the video has been edited.
Hence, It is clear that the viral video is edited.
"Rozana spokesperson does not confirm the original source of the audio used in this video but confirms that the viral video is edited and the singer did not say anything like this about CM Bhagwant Mann in the original video. The original video is from the singer's 2014 show held in UK."
