Chandigarh, January 25: The Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister, Punjab, Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary today extended congratulations to the District Administration, Ferozepur on the occasion of district bagging the National Award for considerably improving the sex ratio under the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ camapaign.

In her congratulatory message, Mrs. Chaudhary said that during the year 2015-16 there were 859 girls after 1000 boys which has now seen improvement in 2017-18 to 916 girls after 1000 boys and this positive trend is laudable.

The minister also said that this honour under the effective engagement, is indicative of the changing attitudes of the society towards girls. Mrs. Chaudhary further added that in today’s era, girls are marching ahead of boys in every field and are bringing glory to their parents.
