SPOKESMAN NEWS SERVICE: CHANDIGARH, NOVEMBER 24: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Saturday expressed profound grief over the tragic demise of Punjabi Jagran Correspondent from Kapurthala district Davinder Singh Soni (44), who was killed in a road mishap on Friday late evening on the way back to home after covering State Level Function in commemoration of 549th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji at Sultanpur Lodhi. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.

In a condolence message, the Chief Minister said that the untimely demise of Davinder Singh is a big loss to the journalistic fraternity. The Chief Minister directed Secretary of Public Relations to ensure that the deceased’s family gets the payment of Rs five lakhs insurance, a cover provided to all journalists by the state government, at the earliest.

Meanwhile, Media Advisor to CM Raveen Thukral also mourned the demise of  Davinder Singh describing his death a huge loss to family, relatives, friends and society. Sharing heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family, Chief Minister prayed to the Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to the family member to bear this irreparable loss.
