In the wake of heavy rainfall in the parts of Punjab, Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu,

CHANDIGARH : In the wake of heavy rainfall in the parts of Punjab, Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu, Animal Husbandry Minister today issued caution and advisory for the livestock farmers. In a press communiqué released here today Mr. Sidhu said that in view of heavy downpour, the fear of floods is looming large on the state.

 In the advisory issued for the farmers, he asked them to take precautionary measures for the safety of livestock. He said that farmers must ensure that the milch animals are not placed under mud roofs as these roofs can collapse in this wet weather which might hurt the animals. He urged the farmers to shift the animals to safer locations.

He also asked the farmers to store adequate quantity of green fodder to use it in the hour of potential calamity. Mr. Sidhu also appealed the general public to take precaution and must not move out of house without any urgent work.

Mr. Sidhu said that the state government is fully prepared to tackle with any untoward situation. He said that army has been put on high alert. He called upon the general public to beware of the rumormongers and act wisely and help the administration.
