Authorities Closely Monitor Flood Situation as Heavy Rainfall Persists in Punjab

MANSA: In the wake of heavy rainfall in hilly areas and parts of Punjab, causing a surge in water levels of rivers, streams, dams, and Ghaggar, schools in the flood-affected regions of Mansa district will remain closed until July 26, 2023. District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Rishipal Singh issued this directive to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff.

The recent heavy downpour has led to a breach in the Ghaggar at Chandpura near Budhlada, resulting in flooding of several villages and towns in the Sardulgarh and Budhlada areas. Consequently, the district administration took necessary precautions to safeguard the students and school infrastructure.

The district administration is closely monitoring the situation, and efforts are underway to address the flooding and assist affected communities. Residents are urged to exercise caution and cooperate with authorities during this challenging period.
