BSF Shoots down a Pakistani Drone at Indo-Pak Border in Amritsar

The International Value of Heroin is said to be around Rs 14 crore

AMRITSAR: The Border Security Force (BSF) is continuously foiling the attempts of Pakistani smugglers on the Punjab border. BSF jawans have succeeded in shooting down this fifth drone in last four days. Along with the drone, the jawans also seized a consignment of heroin. The international value of heroin is said to be around Rs 14 crore.

The BSF got success in Bhaini Rajputan, a border village under BOP Rajatal of Amritsar. BSF jawans of Battalion 144 were on patrol at the time of the incident. At around 10:00 pm, the troops heard the sound of a drone. The soldiers started firing. Afterwards, a search operation was launched in the area.

BSF Commandant Ajay Kumar Mishra said that the drone was found crashed in the fields. A bag was tied at the drone. On opening, 2 packets of suspected heroin were recovered from it. Around 2.1 kg of heroin has been seized from the packets.

Talking about last Saturday and Sunday, BSF jawans had succeeded in seizing 4 drones in 2 days. Three drones have been recovered from fields near Amritsar border. Meanwhile, BSF also recovered a consignment of heroin.
