Amritpal Singh has been sent to Dibrugarh Jail in Assam: IGP

MOGA: 'Waris Punjab De' Chief and Fugitive Amritpal Singh has been arrested on Sunday morning. He has been sent to Dibrugarh Jail in Assam. IGP Headquarters Dr. Sukhchain Singh Gill has shared the information about the arrest during the press conference. The action has been taken against Amritpal Singh under the NSA issued by the court.

As per the IGP, Amritpal Singh was nabbed from Rode village at 6:45 am on Sunday morning. Punjab Police and Intelligence had solid information about his presence in village Rode. Due to this, the village was surrounded from all sides but Amritpal Singh was hiding in the Gurdwara Sahib. The police took care of the dignity of the Gurdwara Sahib. Amritpal Singh could not find any way to escape due to the blockade from all sides and the police nabbed him.

Amritpal Singh has been sent to Dibrugarh. The Punjab Police had been under pressure for the last 35 days. The IGP thanked the people of Punjab for maintaining peace throughout the operation.

IGP Gill clarified that the police have arrested Amritpal Singh and he has not been surrendered. He said that this operation was going on for the last 35 days. Today, after collecting concrete information, the entire operation has been carried out. Further action will be taken as per law.
