Major Seizure of Weapons and Cash as Police Work to Dismantle the Criminal Network

AMRITSAR: In a significant breakthrough, the Punjab Police's Counter Intelligence Amritsar (CIA) division has successfully dismantled an inter-state arms smuggling gang. The operation, which led to the arrest of three individuals, has exposed a network involved in the illegal procurement and distribution of firearms.

The Arrested individuals were found to be smuggling arms from Madhya Pradesh and distributing them within the state of Punjab. The timely intervention by the police has not only led to the apprehension of the culprits but also resulted in the recovery of a cache of weapons and a substantial amount of cash.

A total of 11 pistols and 15 live cartridges were seized from the arrested individuals, underscoring the gravity of the operation. Additionally, the police recovered an impressive sum of Rs 2 lakh, believed to be proceeds from the illicit arms trade.
