During the visit, National Award-winning Art & Craft Teacher Gurpreet Singh Namdhari organized a live painting session.

Chandigarh: Punjab’s School Education Minister, Harjot Singh Bains, has announced that the state will send its second batch of 72 primary school teachers to Finland for advanced training this March. The announcement was made during his visit to the School of Eminence in Phase 11, SAS Nagar (Mohali), where he was joined by a delegation of experts from Finland’s University of Turku.

The training program, facilitated through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Turku, will span three weeks: one week in Punjab and two weeks in Finland. The initiative aims to enhance teaching practices by equipping teachers with modern, effective techniques tailored to primary education.

"The program focuses on innovative strategies that align with global educational standards, ensuring our teachers are well-prepared to meet the diverse needs of their students," said Minister Bains.

Collaboration with Finnish Experts

A team of experts, including Mr. Ari Kioski, Mr. Joel, Ms. Mirjami Einola, and Ms. Sari Isokytö-Sinjoi, joined the Minister during the visit. Their involvement highlights the collaborative efforts between Punjab and Finland to elevate educational standards.

Minister Bains lauded their expertise and contributions, emphasizing the importance of knowledge-sharing to improve teaching methodologies. "Their guidance will be invaluable in shaping the training curriculum and fostering a successful exchange of educational practices," he added.

Art and Culture Display

During the visit, National Award-winning Art & Craft Teacher Gurpreet Singh Namdhari organized a live painting session. Students created an artwork featuring Finland’s flag outlined by its map, leaving the visiting experts mesmerized by their talent.

The Minister presented the visiting delegation with paintings made by the students as a token of appreciation.

The event was attended by Director of School Education Ms. Amaninder Kaur Brar, DEO Ginni Duggal, Principal of the School of Eminence Lovish Chawla, and other officials and staff members.

This initiative reflects Punjab’s commitment to advancing education and ensuring that teachers are equipped with world-class skills to benefit students across the state.
