Entire Village Pays Tribute to the Brave Soldier who Sacrificed His Life for the Nation

PATIALA: Pardeep Singh, a 27-year-old soldier from the village of Ballamgarh in the Samana Constituency of Patiala, was laid to rest with official honors in his native village. Martyred while defending the nation's unity and integrity in Anantnag, Kashmir, the entire village and surrounding areas displayed a profound sense of patriotism during his final rites.

Shaheed Pardeep Singh's wife, Seema Rani, along with his father Darshan Singh and brother Kuldeep Singh, bid a tearful farewell, saluting the fallen soldier. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann's representative, Minister for Defense Services and Welfare Chetan Singh Jouramajra, offered floral tributes to the martyr during the funeral. Joura Majra announced that Seema Rani, the widow of the martyr, would be appointed as an assistant professor in Public College Samana based on her qualifications.

Expressing condolences to the bereaved family, Chetan Singh Jouramajra conveyed the government's unwavering support during this difficult time. The Punjab government pledged to provide all necessary assistance and honor to the martyr in recognition of his sacrifice. The body of the martyred soldier was brought back from Kashmir in a solemn procession, and the family, in grief, paid their respects before the pyre was lit with full military honors and religious rituals.

The bugler of the Indian Army played a mournful tune, and soldiers saluted the martyr, honoring him with a guard of honor. Military officers, including Brigadier Ankush Thakur of Patiala Military Station, and Colonel Abhinav Sharma, paid their respects by placing wreaths. The Deputy Commissioner, SDM, SSP, and other dignitaries also joined in paying their respects.

Born on April 20, 1996, to father Darshan Singh and late mother Paramjit Kaur, young Pardeep Singh joined the Indian Army on December 21, 2015. Serving in the Sikh Light Infantry, he made the ultimate sacrifice on September 13 during a military operation in Gadol at Kokernag in Anantnag district, Kashmir.

The Villagers, including the martyr's wife Seema Rani and brother Kuldeep Singh, expressed their pride in Martyr Pardeep Singh's sacrifice, highlighting his bravery and dedication to the country. The cremation ceremony was attended by significant figures from the political, social, religious, and military sectors, as well as thousands of ordinary citizens, who bid a final farewell to the martyr with heartfelt cries of 'Shaheed Pardeep Singh Amar Rahe'.
