AAP Secures Majority in Ludhiana Municipal Corporation
AAP has solidified its position in the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation by reaching the majority mark of 48 seats in the 95-member House, ensuring smooth sailing for its nominees. This majority was achieved after Mamta Rani, a councillor from Ward 41, switched allegiance from the Congress to AAP on Saturday.
In the Municipal Corporation elections held on December 21, 2024, AAP emerged as the single-largest party, securing victories in 41 wards. Since then, the party has gained further momentum, with two independent councillors, four from the Congress, and one from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) joining its ranks, bringing their total strength to 48.

With Inderjit Kaur set to assume the role of Ludhiana’s Mayor, AAP aims to implement its vision for the city, focusing on citizen welfare and infrastructure development. Rakesh Parashar and Prince Johar will complement her leadership in their respective deputy roles.
