Govt School Students will read the biographies of 4 great players of the state
MOHALI: In order to provide knowledge to the students studying in the government schools of the state of Punjab about latest affairs and to inspire them to prove their strength in the field of sports, biographical study of four great players related to the state of Punjab will be included in the syllabus, stated Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains.
Bains said that the school education department has taken the decision to fulfil the commitment of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to promote sports culture in the state and make Punjab a leader in sports again.
Students studying in government schools of Punjab will be taught the biographies of four great players of the state. The purpose of this is to provide education according to today's times as well as to motivate students to prove their strength in the field of sports.
The Minister of Education further said that the physical education book of ninth and tenth standard under the Punjab School Education Board will have the biographies of the three-time Olympic gold medal hockey Olympian Balbir Singh Sr, the legendary athlete Milkha Singh, who is popularly known as a flying Sikh, Asian champion boxer Kaur Singh and Gurbachan Singh Randhawa, India's first Arjuna awardee Olympian athlete.
