Just a few days ago, Gurvinder traveled to the US and paid a network of travel agents a hefty 4.5 million rupees. To fulfill his son's dream of settling abroad, his father borrowed a significant portion of this amount. Gurvinder’s brother is already settled in Canada, and Gurvinder contacted several agents in hopes of joining him. On Saturday, the family learned that Gurvinder had been detained by US officials for illegal entry.

There is still uncertainty about whether Gurvinder used the notorious "donkey route" to enter the US. The family expressed frustration with the travel agents who failed to ensure a safe and legal passage despite charging a substantial fee. They have called for strict action against the agents who opened the door for  Gurvinder's illegal journey. Upon his arrival at Amritsar airport, Gurvinder informed officials that he had paid 45 lakh Rupees  to agents located in Bathinda, Delhi, and Dubai. His journey began last October when he first traveled to Guyana.
