Former Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Parkash Singh Badal today declared that he was ready to sacrifice

Faridkot/Chandigarh :  Former Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Parkash Singh Badal today declared that he was ready to sacrifice himself and his son Sukhbir Singh Badal for defending the cause of peace and communal harmony in the state.Addressing a mammoth gathering, one of the biggest ever witnessed in the history of the state, Mr Badal said that he had been informed by the police about a plot to assassinate him and his son. “But we neither frighten others nor are going to be frightened or daunted by such reports or threats.

Khalsa Panth represents  a history of sacrifices for upholding the values of peace, communal harmony and Sarbat da Bhala as enshrined in the teachings of the great Guru Sahiban.”Mr Badal said that the Congress is in collusion with the forces that had already put Punjab through a period of turmoil, violence and bloodshed.”It is the same old nexus between the Congress and some elements rejected by the Khalsa Panth who are masquerading as Panthic.

They are up to their old games and conspiracies. The Congress objective is to fulfill its old dream of grabbing control of the Sikh shrines and historic religious institutions. The main target is the SGPC. The Congress knows that it cannot achieve that openly because the Sikhs will never allow their killers to control their religious destiny. That is why the Congress is using these so-called Panthic outfits as their front men. They have tried this ploy before. But failure has not taught them any lessons.”

Mr Badal warned that the Congress collusion with these forces could set Punjab on fire again as it had done in the eighties. He asked the people to be vigilant against being used as gun fodder by “these elements who can get others’ children killed to promote their own petty selfish interests.”

The Akali stalwart referred to the “language of violence and murder” being spoken by the Congress leaders including their chief Minister and senior ministers, especially during and after the Vidhan Sabha session. “They have tried to vitiate the atmosphere in the state and this is responsible for bringing Punjab back to the edge of the precipice  where peace and communal harmony are seriously threatened.”

The five times former CM said that the reason why  violence in Punjab is on the Congress agenda is that its government wants to divert people’s attention from its shocking failure to fulfill its promises and meet the expectations of the people.  Sensational controversies around painful issues such as sacrilege of holy books is part of the means adopted by the Congress govt to achieve this dangerous and unholy objective.

”Earlier, speaking on the occasion, the SAD president Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal came down heavily on the “paid lackeys of the Congress wearing Panthic masks and said that these stooges of the killers of the Sikhs should hang placards of with Indira Gandhi’s image around their necks.

The SAD president also took chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh head on and said he had proved to be a good for nothing (nikamma). He also said only a completely unethical person could use derogatory words like Amarinder had used for five times CM Sardar Parkash Singh Badal. He said while Sardar Badal was leader of the masses who had always stood with the cause of the poor,

Capt Amarinder was a leader who kept away from the people. He said everyone was acquainted with the CM’s past as well as his character. He also asserted that it was Capt Amarinder who had committed the biggest sacrilege by making promises by swearing on the Gutka Sahib and then reneging on them.

The SAD president also exposed Pradesh Congress President Sunil Jakhar and Minister Sukhjinder Randhawa. He said Jakhar’s father Balram Jakhar had stated that killing of even two crore Sikhs was justified for the good of the country. He said Sukhjinder’s  father Santokh Randhawa had praised Indira Gandhi for attacking Sri Darbar Sahib through Operation Blue Star in 1984.Mr Sukhbir Badal also said bother radical leaders Dhyan Singh Mand and Baljit Singh Daduwal had a shady past.

He said Mand, who was from a poor background, had recently purchased a property by executing a registry of Rs 30 Lakhs. He said the truth of the matter was that Mand, Daduwal and others were collecting funds in the name of protest at Bargari and enriching themselves.
