Chandigarh :  In his first comment on the rousingsuccess of the SAD BJP rally at Faridkot, former Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal said here today that the rally will mark a watershed in Punjabis' tryst with peace and communal harmony and it will be quoted by future historians as  “the turning point in the politics of the state.. "

Thanking the people of Punjab and the soldiers of the SAD-BJP for rising to the challenge with unprecedented vigour, Mr Badal said, ““We have successfully isolated enemies of peace and communal harmony in Punjab.We decided to engaged them head on and the people of Punjab responded whole-heartedly, against conspiracies to start a civil war in the Khalsa Panth, 

divide Punjabis on communal lines and ruin the hard earned peace and harmony in the state. It is a victory of Khalsa Panth and of Punjab, Punjabi and Pujabiat,” said Mr Badal In a  statement released through the party's headquarters in Chandigarh a couple of hours after the rally, Mr Badal said, " Enough was indeed enough.

 We needed to send a strong message to the political opportunists now holding reins of power on the one hand and to their paid stooges engaged in efforts to divide Sikhs from Sikhs and the community from other communities on the other. The people of Punjab respond whole heartedly to our call and I can say with total confidence that the forces working to divide Punjabis and play havouc with peace in the state stand isolated today.”
