CM Mann ordered to deploy officers on the ground

CHANDIGARH: As Concerns escalate following the release of floodwaters from the Bhakra Dam, numerous regions in Punjab are on high alert for potential flooding. In light of this situation, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has issued a directive mandating all ministers to personally visit areas impacted by the floods. Chief Minister Mann himself visited the affected locales, coordinating with Disaster Response Force (D.R.F.) personnel and issuing directives to deploy officers on the ground.

The Recent opening of the Bhakra Dam's floodgate has led to the inundation of villages near Sri Anandpur Sahib. The swift release of water from the dam wreaked havoc within a short span of time, necessitating immediate action. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the Ropar district administration promptly sought the assistance of the army to effectively manage and address the unfolding crisis.
