Relief from Scorching Heat! Weather Experts Predicts Rain in Punjab for next 2 Days

Rain Predicted on May 17 and 18 in the state: Experts

LUDHIANA: Bringing major relief for the people amid the scorching heat, the weather experts have predicted rain in the state for next two days. Since last week, the temperature has been rising continuously and Ludhiana has recorded above 40 degree Celsius, which is normally 36 to 39 degree Celsius.

Similarly, the minimum temperature which is normally around 23 degree Celsius is currently hovering at around 24 degree Celsius. Although the temperature is almost near normal, but due to increase in minimum temperature, Western Disturbance is moving towards Punjab. Due to this, on May 16, 17 and 18, there may be rain with strong winds, lightning and thunder in the south-western districts.

Giving more information, Meteorologist Dr. Kulwinder Kaur from PAU said that the weather of the state is expected to cool down in the coming two days. He said that many places in Punjab would be 'cloudy' and a drop in temperature could be witnessed. Although in the previous years, the temperature during these days used to reach around 45 degree Celsius, which has been less this time due to rain.
