A case has been registered against the arrested members: Police
CHANDIGARH: The Local police has filed a chargesheet in the district court against seven members of the Bambiha Gang. The Operation Cell nabbed these members when they were trying to rob a businessmen. The police have arrested the accused Mannu Batta, Aman Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Kamaldeep, Chetan, Mukul Rana and Jimmy Bansal. A case has been registered against them under sections 384, 386, 120-B of IPC and sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act.
The Seven members of the Bambiha Gang were arrested in March last by the team of Operation Cell under the leadership of Inspector Amanjot Singh. Three pistols of .32 bore, one revolver and 23 bullets were recovered from their possession. The police have claimed that all these miscreants used to extort money from city's clubs, liquor shops and hotel owners at the behest of gangster Gaurav Patial alias Lucky Patial and Prince.
In March 2023, the team of 'Operation Cell' of Chandigarh Police was on patrol. Meanwhile, the informer told that there is some special information about Gaurav Patial and his associate Prince Kurali. The informer told that these accused are running their gang from abroad through WhatsApp and other social media platforms. The miscreants of this gang are on the lookout to carry out a major incident in Chandigarh. On this information, the police arrested two accused Mukul Rana and Mannu Batta.
During investigation, it was found that Mukul Rana, a resident of Maloya and Mannu Batta Budail, currently a resident of Kharar, were threatening businessmen, hoteliers, night club owners, property dealers, builders, restaurateurs of Chandigarh at the behest of Lucky. With these clues, the police arrested five more members of Bambiha gang and filed a charge sheet against all of them in the court.
