155-kg poppy husk recovered from car

Bathinda: Police have recovered 155 kg of poppy husk from a Creta car near Muhala village. After seeing the police, two persons in the car ran away immediately.

The accused has been identified as Lala Singh, a resident of Barnala while another accused remains to be identified. A case has been registered against the accused at the Sangat police station.

Paramjeet Singh, SHO of the Sangat police station, said personnel were deployed near Muhala village. He said a car (HR-26-CZ-4338) had stopped near the check-post and two persons ran away immediately after seeing the police, leaving the car behind. After checking the car, they recovered 155 kg of poppy husk from the car, he added.
