Voting, which was conducted through ballot papers, began early in the morning and continued till 4 PM.

Punjab Panchayat Elections Result 2024 Live Updates: The much-anticipated results of the 2024 Punjab Panchayat Elections are being declared, following a day of voting across the state. Elections were held for a total of 13,937 Gram Panchayats, with 1.33 crore voters participating in the democratic process on October 15. 

The state saw the establishment of 19,110 polling booths, and approximately 96,000 employees were deployed to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the elections. Voting, which was conducted through ballot papers, began early in the morning and continued till 4 PM. Several measures were put in place by the government to ensure peace, including the cancellation of police officers' and officials' leaves until the election process was completed. In addition, a public holiday was declared across Punjab to encourage voter participation.

In this election, more than 52,000 nominations were filed for the position of Sarpanch, while over 1.66 lakh candidates were vying for Panch positions. According to the Punjab State Election Commission, a total of 52,825 nominations were received for Sarpanch posts and 1,66,338 nominations for Panch posts in these Gram Panchayats.

7:10 PM | Basti Ram Lal | Jarmal Singh becomes Sarpanch of Ferozepur Gram Panchayat Basti Ram Lal, won by a margin of 27 votes.

7:05 PM | Darshan Singh Jasseka became the sarpanch in Kambowal village of Halka Sunam, won by 12 votes.

7:00 PM | A 23-year-old girl became a Sarpanch in Ferozepur. Rajveer Kaur became the Sarpanch of Village Basti Buta.

6:48 PM | Rajasansi | Mata Daljit Kaur became the sarpanch with a huge majority.

6:45 PM | Harvinder Kaur became Sarpanch from village Shatabgarh with a margin of 50 votes

6:42 PM | Malkit Singh from village Saidpur became Sarpanch with 3 votes.

6:15 PM | The results of the villages of Mohali have also come. Harinder and Rita's elected as Panch from Balongi. 

6:10 PM | Inderjit Kaur from village Sikri of Bhulath constituency became sarpanch.

6:07 PM | Jarmal Singh Elected Sarpanch of Ferozepur Gram Panchayat Basti Ram Lal with a margin of 27 votes. 

6:05 PM | Sarpanch elected in the village of Muhammad Nagar Khurd Bhaini of Malerkotla. Kamaljit Kaur became Sarpanch with a margin of 301 votes. 

6:02 PM | Sarpanch Sapuran Singh won from village Fatehgarh of constituency Bhulath

6:00 PM | The result of the first panchayat in Punjab came out. Jinder Singh became Sarpanch from village Khilchi Jadid of Ferozepur. Jinder Singh won Sarpanchi with a margin of 26 votes. 

5:50 PM | Counting process underway at polling booths, results to be declared shortly

5:30 PM | Gunshots fired in Moga ahead of counting of votes.

4:40 PM | The results are to be declared shortly.

4:00 PM | The Voting Process concluded
