"This is the land of Guru Ramdas Ji, where food and shelter are always provided. No one will go hungry here," he assured.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has said that his recent press conference has led to several key changes in how the Centre is handling the return of Indian immigrants deported from the United States. The deportation flight is scheduled to land at Amritsar airport at 10 PM today (Saturday), and Mann has vowed to ensure proper arrangements for those onboard.
Changes in Arrival Arrangements
CM Mann stated that, unlike the last time when deportees were dropped off far behind the airport, this time the flight will land at the passenger terminal.
He also assured that:
- Punjabis among the deportees will be allowed to walk out of the airport freely.
- Haryana residents will be extended the same facility.
- Deportees from other states will be provided with temporary accommodation before being flown to their respective states.

CM Slams Centre for Not Arranging Indian Flights
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann criticized the PM Modi-led government for not taking proactive steps to bring back deported Indians on India’s own flights.
"PM Modi should have sent our own flights to bring them back. I am still trying to convince them to land the flight somewhere else," he said.
He further added that the Centre has agreed with Punjab’s concern that a foreign military aircraft should not land in a border state due to security implications.
Investigation into Fraudulent Immigration Agents
The Punjab government plans to investigate fraudulent immigration agents who may have misled and exploited these individuals.
"We will investigate the fraud agents and help these victims recover their losses. Our government will also assist them in rebuilding their careers," CM Mann added.
The Chief Minister confirmed that he will be present at Amritsar airport tonight to oversee the arrival and ensure proper arrangements for the deportees.
